They were notes from someone who referred to the "guests" as "experimental subjects." It talked about the guests dying, and studying them after their deaths.
I think this might explain the other answers I got from Master Blue a bit better than I had though.
[ cue ken presenting said letters:
]
I got that one when I asked about the monsters and this one is what I got back when I asked them again if it was normal for people to die at their parties...
[he's tired and a little frustrated and that shows in his tone, in the way he runs his hand through his hair, in the frustrated noise that rumbles in his throat]
When I first heard about the possibility that people brought here were experimented on, I thought maybe this whole charade was a continuation of that experiment. It-- it really pissed me off.
. . . but if nobody ever dies intentionally in this mansion, then. . . what the hell is it all supposed to mean?
I don't think it's the same here, but I know that when they were experimenting on shadows and people, it was in order to bring the end of the world.
[ ken is worlds more tired now too. his whole body sags as akira lets out his frustrations. talk more to each other the letter told him!!!! ]
Or maybe they're looking for a way to escape death somehow. [ he thinks back to the graveyard. ] The markers—do you think they could belong to Peach, Plum, and Pumpkin?
[Akira's gaze narrows at that. FUCK THE END OF THE WORLD!!!! but when Ken sags, Akira reaches out to put a hand on his shoulder, to direct him to lean some of his weight against Akira's side. a show of support and camaraderie]
. . . I hadn't thought about it before. What makes you think they might be?
[ YEAH. SEES SAID THE SAME THING..... but ken will smile and does so. there's a time to come off as tough and now isn't that time. ]
The epitaphs. There were a few that stuck out to me and even if the monsters aren't the normal—
[ combine three dead servants with the idea of zombies and experiments about how things work after death... you know. it all leads to a very interesting point. or at least for ken. ]
Maybe that's why they look like a cat, a rabbit, and a fox?
[Akira hasn't really examined the graveyard yet, so. . .]
Which epitaphs?
[he is certainly not rejecting the theory. it would make sense, considering what they found, considering how cagey the sisters are when it comes to talking about their lives before Master Blue, but. . .]
[ fortuntately for him that ken spends a fair enough amount of time there... ]
"laid to rest, no mourning please at his request," was definitely one of them. There was another about absent-mindedness, and the last one was about lying for a while.
[ sadly he's not good enough to remember them all verbatim. ]
They could be from other guests but they could work for all three of them, couldn't they?

but he'll grimace at akechi, hunter, and 45 all having to fight the undead because wow that must be fun. totes fun!!! at the same time— ]
Research notes?
[ quickly: ]
Was it about turning people into monsters?

[HA HA HA. . . HERE'S THE FUN PART. . .]

Events change frequently?
[another lengthy pause]
Is it possible the remnants of the "experiment" are from a different "dinner party?"
no subject
I think so. [ ... ] But what does that mean? What are they all trying to accomplish?
[ something something human experimentation results in some bad tastes in his small child's mouth. ]

["his" request, though. . . that doesn't work for either of the sisters.. though Pumpkin could be pretty absent-minded]
I'd say it might be worth asking them, but-- I don't know how you politely ask someone if they've died before.

[ what is this about a request... ]
no subject
They are pretty silent about what their lives were like before coming to this mansion. So. . .
Next time I talk to them, I'll ask.
