The issue is, the amnesia doesn't necessarily stop the ones outside of the people who got killed from trying to put together anything they did see from the trial? They wouldn't know any more than what we do during trials, but if someone on that side really wanted retribution badly enough and wasn't aware of the complications it'd cause...
