And I'm on Winter's team. You know that already. My job title is Safety Counselor. I can choose one person to protect each week. If they're targeted, I can intervene in the murder.
I'm allowed to try to intervene non-lethally, but whether that works is. . . [waggles. a hand] I haven't been able to test it out yet, so.
[looking. over at the other six]
And what these guys aren't saying-- what they can't say-- is that sometimes they're tasked with committing the weekly murders.
[NO!!! reaches out to place a hand on Chuuya's shoulder, steadying himself]
Think of it like the monsters back at the mansion, only. . . they're still themselves. And if someone doesn't die each week we all die, right. . .?
So it's like a failsafe to prevent a TPK. [well he doesn't know that for sure but that's what it seems like] Taako and Tonbokiri, and Wei Wuxian and Beau, have known about each other since the beginning. Flayn was working with Shinobu, but is now working with Magnus. Their separate groups didn't know about each other until Sunday.
And I didn't know about any of them until yesterday.
If you think about it - three teams of people throwing darts at the same bullseye, not knowing the other ones are there - somebody's gettin' a dart in the face there, huh?
Knowing that, I'm amazed you all were able to come together as a group in the first place.
[How did you all not dart each other in the face more, it's a miracle.]
So, what now? I'm sure you all know what my role does already, and if you've already pieced together everyone's teams, then we just sit here playing darts? Or is there some point to it all?
When I’ve asked why we’ve had so many bodies each week, simply out of curiosity, the Directors have told me that it was a direction they recieved. That otherwise this game would take too long, week after week, probably on account of no one wanted to actually . . . play darts.

That's-- what happened to Sanji.
[his expression falls at that. he's glad Chuuya is Sanji's replacement, but he will never not be a little sad about Sanji]
