Even if we put aside our bias of coming in from killing games, the fact that the rules stress keeping our affiliation a secret? Pretty suspicious. Competitions that run are secrecy tend to be counterproductive to "coexistence".

Their job was to encourage and assist people in completing their objectives. They were good at that, if nothing else.

What did the completion of objectives achieve, anyway? Because I can't think of anything that would be worth drowning someone else.

We got ink. Which sounds totally lame out of context, but we needed the stuff to revive the dead, go home, etc. If we didn't gather enough, we'd be stuck there forever.
