[slides his arms around Minato's waist in a loose hug. cuddle time!!]

[there's a moment of silence as Akira mulls these words over in his mind before he speaks again]

I wish they'd stop getting hot and heavy in the cuddle pit, but even the jar won't stop some of them.

[ "Uncomfortable" isn't the right word but... ]

Mmmmaybe you guys need to come up with clearer ground rules. . . I mean, that's part of being roommates with people, right?

It makes them all really happy, and--I mean, they're like...they all seem to think it's pretty normal, so.

I'll adjust. It just definitely has taken me off-guard. Everything is so open and relaxed here.

Things being open and relaxed isn't a bad thing, it's true. It's important that people feel comfortable enough to be themselves-- in all ways. And that includes feeling comfortable enough to go for what they want, regardless of how it might look to "polite society" or whatever.

[MINATO KNOWS HOW AKIRA FEELS ABOUT POLITE SOCIETY, AND THAT IS, FUCK 'EM!!]

. . . hah. . . but I guess I can see why it'd take you so off-guard. We're used to putting on masks to blend in to "polite society" where it matters.

[ he just shrugs a bit, leaning in to press their foreheads together. ]

[there's something about Minato's tone that makes Akira grow distant for a moment, gaze unfocused. one hand drifts gently across Minato's back, settling at the nape of his neck, eyes fluttering slightly]

[ how words??? Minato is definitely not getting it, judging by the quizzical tone to his hum. ]

[ttttentatively, a little uncertain, which is extremely uncharacteristic for Akira]

[ he... pulls back enough to look Akira in the eye properly, looking a little... baffled.

He opens his mouth...

... And then winces a little and closes it again. ]

... I think what I'm about to say is going to sound really, really selfish...

[ ... he bites his lip, looking away. ]

[that's actually not what Akira had braced himself for, and his breath stills in the back of his throat]

[and then he drags Minato closer, face buried against the other wild card's neck, grip tight]

[he mutters something into Minato's neck, but it's almost impossible to make out like this]

[ ... o... oh?

Minato just... strokes Akira's hair and makes a quietly questioning noise. ]

[he is clinging sooooo tightly, fingers curling into the back of Minato's shirt]

[and then, more audibly--]

I don't think that's selfish at all. Or if it is, then I'm selfish, too.

[ ... he relaxes as well, then, all at once, shoulders slumping a little bit. ]

... Are you sure? I'm basically saying that I want all of your focus and attention.

Even though I know you're great enough to be important to lots of people like that. Um. Romantically or physically.

[ he's so bad at this. ]

[oh my god. laughs a little breathlessly, drawing back just enough to catch Minato's gaze with his own, hands pressed against his cheeks]

[he's smiling a little doofily, but it's oh-so fond]

That's exactly what I want to give you. . . and what I want from you in return.

[ ... ah. And Minato just hums softly at that, tilting his face into Akira's touch contentedly, eyes fluttering shut. ]

I'm lucky, then. That's... exactly what I want too.

... You understand me better than anyone, Akira. There isn't anyone else I'd rather be devoted to.

[tilts his head up a bit so their noses brush together. cute eskimo kisses!!]

Yeah. I feel. . . the same way.

[he feels so, so lucky]

But I want you to be happy, so. . . I dunno. I guess. . . I thought I should ask.

... You're sweet.

[ Minato is content to brush their noses together peacefully, affectionately and gently. ]

Thanks for looking out for me. I still feel... well... I'm not used to asking for someone to focus on me and only me.

But... I'm happy.

[to hear that Minato is happy, just as they are. . . well. that's all Akira could ask for in this conversation, isn't it?]

[he cards his fingers through the hair at the nape of Minato's neck, idly toying with blue locks]

[ .............. he rolls a little to be half on top of Akira now, peering at him. ]

Now that we've established that--there isn't anyone else you'd be interested in that with at all?

[ he doesn't sound doubtful so much as like.

He... needs this to convince himself that it's okay to expect this of Akira!!! ]

[allows for this, though his cheeks do turn a little pink. they've made out like this plenty of times before but it's still!! kind of!! exhilarating!!]

[his fingers continue to stroke through Minato's hair cuz he finds this to be soothing!! and his ears perk forward as he takes a genuine moment to consider the question]

There are a lot of really attractive people here-- [VICIOUS] -- but I don't want to date them. Not because they wouldn't be fun to date, but because I'm just. . . well. I'm not into them that way.

[ It is soothing... and Akira's answer is soothing too. So he just rests his cheek on Akira's chest, settling there peacefully. ]
